Amanda Shires

Brought up in Lubbock and Mineral Wells, Texas, and now thriving in Nashville, 5-string fiddler/singer/songwriter Amanda Shires played with the Texas Playboys as a teenager and was a founding member of the Thrift Store Cowboys. She has provided fiddle to records and live shows by a wide array of artists including Justin Townes Earle, Todd Snider, and Jason Isbell, performed in the movie Country Strong, and contributed a track to the recent Lowe Country tribute to Nick Lowe.. Her latest solo effort, Down Fell the Doves (Lightning Rod Records), is produced by Andy LeMaster, and features 11 self-penned songs about life, love, death, and Leonard Cohen.
